one site that I have seen… 11foot8.com is a bridge that has been hit so many times they have a sacrificial I-beam in front of the bridge to protect it, when they ignore the multiple signs, warning light, and automated sign (and it has cameras to record them too)
It would be interesting in focusing in on the issue of truck hitting bridges. I just don't understand why there aren't hanging clearance signs above the road that will literally hit trucks that are too tall in time for them to stop.
I'd like more of this series, please.
sadly, we don't have bridge protection for vehicle collision in my country or drinkable tab water
I can always tell a video is from Texas just by looking at the distinctive overpasses lol
Kool
We need the bridge protection here in Boston! Every year moving trucks ram the overpasses/tunnels on Storrow Dr., no matter how many signs are up specifically saying moving trucks are too tall. Just found your channel and am so happy I did!
Sir plz talk us about how to estimate of infrastructure work like road, drain, sewage, manhole, pipe line etc… plz plz plz….. plz plz plz….. plz plz plz….. plzzzzzz sir
Nice
Great channel Grady ! I run a construction company out of cleveland, ohio. We do concrete much of the year and your videos have sure gave me some knowledge . Appreciate very much and looking forward to more vids !
I don't know of a bridge with a more robust protection system then the 11Foot8 bridge in Durham, NC. Protective beam, warnign signs, lights. and this montage will show you just how important they are.

I guess GTA and it's flimsy sign and lamp posts aren't as unrealistic as once thought.
I learn a few things today here. Thanks for sharing !
Hello Grady,
I do you know what is "ATE" for design of bridges. I couldn't find out a relevant full-form for it. Advanced Test Equipment is close enough. The term comes from a bridge engineering examination syllabus. Thanks for any help.
I used to anyalize concrete cores that were taken out of bridges. Don't follow a heavy semi-over an old concrete bridge in the North.
Love your cat! 🙂
Stobie poles. South Australia represent with out edge of the road death traps.
Although to be fair they were designed to deal with the ultra harsh climate and killer termites and were built before people did road races around backstreets in sports cars. And now any new things are the breakaway designs.
Simon Patten, Chair of the Wharton School of Business, called Public Infrastructure the “Fourth Factor of Production”
By keeping rent-yielding infrastructure in the public domain, Public Investment would reduce the economy’s overall price structure, lower the cost of doing business & increase international competitiveness.
Great idea for a show!! ! I am an advocate in Vancouver for skyTran.com This is pegged to make as much of an impact as the auto but without congestion or urban sprawl. See my video tramwaypods.ca ( on top). you may be interested as infrastructure is not just route like a train but grid like buses and inexpensive to set up
Amazing channel😍
“That’s called a road”
1:45 I've noticed those increasingly being used. And I surmised that's what it was for.
And…Are you in San Antonio? All that looks very familiar. I'd be certain if I could get a glimpse of miles and miles of never-ending construction.
Tell you what I think? Alright I shall. You sir are fantastic! You make us engineers look good! Thank you.
Love your videos man. So much insight on the engineering all around us.
Can make video on Burj Khalifa construction
On some of the bridges in my city we just have a i beam a few centimetres in front of the bridge
But how do the breakaway signs work…
That’s amazing about the carbon fibre
